The Simpsons

Safe — no visual nudity or sex

Sex & Nudity Content

Visual content only. References, dialogue, and jokes don't count.

  • The series contains occasional sexual jokes, innuendos, and suggestive humor, but most episodes are relatively mild.
  • Rear nudity is occasionally shown for comedic purposes. Bart mooning people is also a recurring joke.
  • Homer and Marge are occasionally shown in situations implying sex, particularly in earlier seasons, but scenes usually cut away before anything explicit happens.
  • A few episodes involve extramarital affairs, including one implied sex scene with non-explicit nudity.
  • Some episodes contain moderate sexual humor and references, particularly between Seasons 14 and 19, which are generally more sexually suggestive than the earlier and later seasons.
  • Characters occasionally wear revealing clothing, and cleavage is sometimes featured.
  • In one episode, a woman removes her clothing, but explicit nudity is not shown.
  • Sexual content generally became milder again from around Season 20 onward.
  • No explicit genital nudity is typically shown, with rear nudity being the most common form of nudity.
  • Some episodes contain stronger sexual jokes or references, making them less suitable for younger children.
