isitsafe.tv logo — safe movie ratings

Trust & Privacy

This page is maintained by the isitsafe.tv team to answer common questions about how the site handles data and security. It is editable site content, not an independent certification or audit.

What the site does

isitsafe.tv is a public catalog of movies labelled SAFE or UNSAFE based on visual sex and nudity content. Browsing is fully anonymous — no account is required to read movie pages, search, or share.

What we collect

  • Movie votes: when you agree or disagree with a verdict, we store the vote with an anonymous browser identifier set in an HttpOnly cookie. We do not link it to a name, email, or IP.
  • Contact, report, and request forms: if you submit one, we receive the email address and message you provide so we can reply.
  • Standard server logs: our hosting platform records basic request metadata (timestamp, path, status) for reliability and abuse prevention.

We do not sell personal data and we do not run advertising trackers.

Services we rely on

  • The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie posters and metadata. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
  • Our team & users — verdicts come from our team watching titles and from reports submitted by users.
  • Lovable Cloud — managed backend that stores votes and runs server functions.
  • Resend — delivers emails from contact, request, and report forms.

Security controls in place

  • All traffic is served over HTTPS.
  • The votes table has Row-Level Security enabled. Writes go through server functions only — the browser cannot write directly.
  • Secrets (API keys, service credentials) live in server-only environment variables and are never shipped to the browser.
  • The anonymous browser identifier used for voting is stored in an HttpOnly cookie so client-side scripts cannot read it.

Data retention and deletion

Votes and form submissions are kept while the site operates so we can show aggregate counts and respond to your messages. If you want a submission removed, email us and we will delete it.

Report a security issue

If you believe you have found a security or privacy problem, please email La5to@yahoo.com with steps to reproduce. Please do not publicly disclose the issue until we have had a chance to address it.

Shared responsibility: the items above describe what isitsafe.tv and its hosting platform do. Keeping the device and browser you use to access the site secure is your responsibility.

Our Safety Parameters

We measure one thing and one thing only: visual nudity and sex scenes. Every TV show and movie is rated Safe, Slightly Safe, or Unsafe.

SAFE
  • Zero visual nudity or sex scenes throughout the film
  • Verbal references, dialogue, or jokes are considered safe
  • Violence and profanity do not affect the safety rating
SLIGHTLY SAFE
  • ~Only brief flashes of nudity (a second or two) or partial / distant exposure
  • ~Sex is implied — covered, under sheets, fades to black, no body parts shown
  • ~No extended, graphic, or repeated sexual content
UNSAFE
  • Clear visual nudity (breasts, genitals, full buttocks shown plainly)
  • On-screen sex scenes with thrusting, undressing, or extended intimacy
  • Multiple or graphic sexual scenes anywhere in the film
